Trinity Valley Pools and Spas first location was opened in Palestine, Texas in 1991. It was a small store around 1500 square feet but it served the purpose of taking care of our customers. After a few years Trinity Valley Pools and Spas began to outgrow this location, so in 2003 Trinity Valley Pools and Spas purchased the three acres next to the original location and built a 4,000 square foot store front. At this time we increased the number of portable spas being displayed in the retail store. Trinity Valley Pools and Spas also began selling above ground pools and continued building custom in-ground pools. We even built a custom in-ground water park with four custom in-ground pool models and a section with above ground pools displayed in order to further educate our customers. In 2005 we were running out of room again so we decided to add another 4,000 square feet to our location.
Our Trinity Valley Pools team is always looking for ways to improve our product line and pricing to our customers. During this expansion we decided to talk to some major spa manufacturers to see if we could become a distributor for one of their companies. We succeeded in this endeavor and started buying spas from a major manufacturer, with a great reputation for quality and customer service, and began buying factory direct. By doing this Trinity Valley Pools and Spas is able to buy a great product at a better price. Since we buy in truck load quantities we offer better pricing and selection to our customers. We have become the largest distributor in East Texas for this manufacturer. Since the expansion Trinity Valley Pools and Spas has become one of the premier custom in-ground pool builders in this region of the country.
During this 19-year-period of business we noticed that more and more of our business was coming from the Tyler, Texas market about 40 miles north of our first location. We decided that if people were willing to come that far to visit and do business with us we would open a location in their area. Early in 2007 Trinity Valley Pools and Spas opened our second location in Tyler Texas. We opened this location with 2,500 square feet of retail space. After a year we were running out of room at this location so we increased the size of the store to 5,000 square feet and have the largest selection of spas on one showroom in East Texas.
In a span of a year and a half we have doubled the quantity of custom in-ground pools built in both regions. In 2009 we expect to add another 30% to 40% to that figure. All of this has been great, however, we started looking for ways to save our customers money and offer greater value.
